Acknowledgment of Country
This blog is written in Australia — a settler-colonial state founded on stolen land with the false and racist assertion that it was terra nullius (“no one’s land”).
Sovereignty was never ceded.
I acknowledge and pay respect to the Traditional Owners of the land on which I write, the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
I also honor the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognize their continuing connection to lands, waters, and communities. I pay my respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures, and Elders past and present.
I acknowledge all Indigenous and First Nations peoples around the world as the rightful custodians of the places where we live and learn.
